I picked up a Sony set of in-ear headphones with multiple sizes and found them to be rather uncomfortable...for about a day. Now I've completely adjusted to 'em and am terribly happy with my set. Granted, they're not as nice or comfy as a big ol' set of cans, but they fit into my pocket wrapped around an iPod very nicely, and that's the important thing.

Ouch. I'm astonished to see Geneon close it's doors, considering that it had as many key titles as anyone else in the industry. Black Lagoon and Hellsing were (or, at least, they should have been) high profile, popular current releases and their back catalog included perennials like Akira, Fushigi Yuugi, Samurai Champloo, and Trigun. That said, if the anime market had been in a slump lately it isn't terribly suprising that their parent company could look at the Geneon by-line on a spreadsheet and decide they'd better cut their losses.
Long term, I'm sure their more popular titles will be acquired by other companies in the not-too-distant future. Short term, I'd better go ahead and buy some titles I'd been putting off purchasing, namely the rest of Paranoia Agent, the Kamichu! box, and Fighting Spirit. I'm particularly bummed that this news comes right before budget sets of Fighting Spirit were to hit the street. I'm even more bummed that many of Geneon's terrific lesser titles will be no longer available. Grab Black Heaven and Master Keaton while you can, folks!

As for music, I recently found a torrent of the Top 1000 German hits of the past thirty years or so. I think it was exclusively number one hits, but I'm not sure. I downloaded everything that wasn't in English or that I recognized and wanted and got some classic stuff: "Anton aus Tyrol", "Ein Insel Mit Zwei Bergen", "I Wanna Be A Hippie", all stuff you'd turned me on to ages ago.
So, my question: any other goofy German techno to recommend? I can probably track it down on the web, or you're welcome to just pass along the hook-up.

I'm getting your RSS feeds, but it's no big deal. I've added two of my own, one of which just went up: The Blank Top Chronicles, a ruthlessly funny blog from a cab dispatcher in DC who can't get fired for saying whatever the hell he likes to customers that annoy him. You should see it pop up the same way I'm seeing your feeds arrive. Check it out.
